Oct 14, 2015 · Looking to ID further. Looking at a Chevy engine with the 3970010 casting number and trying to find out more info. The numbers on the machined pad on the front passenger side of the block are 151420105 K10 3P CMJ. From the info I'm looking at the CMJ means "1974 350 T400 Police" or "1980 305 full size/Camaro", but shouldn't the 9 digit VIN code ... The block is a 3970010 350 and I will go from there. When i dissassembled the engine I found that the engine had been rebuild already with very low miles on it. The inside is a clean as if I just built it, there is NO top edge on the cylinders and the bearings look great.
