My #102 has a P-rail so mount + optic was straightforward. My take is that a good optic starts at around $400. One can go well past $2,000 if he’s so inclined. 1X for short-range (and illuminated reticle option) seems obvious; 6X, 8X & 10X are all possibilities at other end. I had a C308 and the only problem I ran into was with my wide handguard; I had to remove some material on the inside for it to fit. If it all fit a C308 I can all but guarantee it'll work with PTR and general G3 pattern rifles.
