While studying a signal chip does not consume it, they can be used for other useful implants, such as a standard control sublinks. But, generally speaking, a bandwidth pack is the highest priority of all the options for the chips. Average speed, Average health per bandwidth, Average DPSA per bandwidth. Their range isn't great, but mechs perform poorly at long ranges anyway. When space is at a premium, such as when defending a chokepoint with larger armies, they'll be terrible. Against overkilling stuff like the Diabolus, they'll be great. Usually, they'll just be average.
